About The Position

Saskatoon Co-op is seeking a part-time Liquor Clerk for Martensville Liquor #196. This role is responsible for serving members with products and services that help build, feed and fuel individuals and communities. As a member-owned business, profits are returned to members and stay in the local economy. Saskatoon Co-op has over 1400 employees serving over 127,000 members in Saskatoon and surrounding communities through grocery, liquor, pharmacy, petroleum and lubricants, home and building solutions, and agricultural supplies.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Have or willing to obtain Serve It Right Saskatchewan
  • Strongly service-oriented and motivated
  • Capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics and training sessions
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements including: lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs. of force occasionally, 10-20 lbs. of force constantly, and the ability to climb ladders
  • Must be able to work: mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the liquor industry
  • Enhanced knowledge of wine, spirits and beer (Writing a product knowledge test may be required to determine eligibility)

  • Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
  • Meet the expectations of internal and external customers
  • Perform all tasks required in a liquor store including but not limited to: store opening and closing, cashier, stocking, receiving, preparing commercial and online orders, snow removal, cleaning and sanitizing
  • Understand products and services offered to promote sales and meet customer needs
  • Order, receive and display merchandise as directed and per Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures
  • Efficiently operate the point-of-sale system and conduct financial transactions in adherence with Saskatoon Co-op policies
  • Proficiently and safely operate manual and power mobile equipment in the store
  • Adhere to loss prevention policies and strategies
  • Review and act on various P.O.S. reports as they pertain to the section and as directed by the manager
  • Understand and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures, particularly the Selling Age Restricted Items policy
  • Ensure that a neat, clean, and orderly location is maintained at all times
  • Perform all duties as assigned
