About The Position

Reading Truck is hiring a Liquid Painter for its first shift in Claremore, Oklahoma. Painters work together in a high-volume, quality-focused shop to paint specialty truck equipment, including commercial and fleet vehicles. Experience gained through technical school, industry work, or personal hobby is accepted. The role involves preparing surfaces, mixing paints and primers to customer specifications, applying coatings, inspecting work, and operating paint-spraying equipment while meeting company quality and safety standards. The position requires a pre-employment full- and half-face fit test and the ability and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

Painting experience gained through technical school, industry experience, or personal hobby.
Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
Ability to complete a pre-employment full- and half-face fit test.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces as needed by sanding and grinding.
Mix and thin paint, and adjust spray equipment for proper atomization.
Mix paints and primers to customer-ordered specifications.
Apply coatings to the recommended thickness.
Inspect units and parts scheduled for painting and conduct quality inspections on painted units.
Operate paint-spraying equipment, including pot guns and compressors.
Meet company craftsmanship and quality standards.
Follow company safety rules and policies.
Maintain paint records.
Complete a pre-employment full- and half-face fit test and wear required PPE.
