About The Position

The client is urgently seeking a Linux/Unix Administrator with C++ experience. This role involves managing Linux OS and C++ applications, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 8.x. The position requires software development experience using C++ on Linux, knowledge of scripting languages, Linux kernel and device drivers, package management, infrastructure tools, and the Red Hat Linux kickstart process. Responsibilities include optimizing the OS platform, managing application upgrades with backup and rollback capabilities, implementing security fixes, assessing platform upgrades, setting up build and run environments, and performing verification testing.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in Linux OS and C++ applications.
Good knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 8.x architecture and tools.
Software Development experience using C++ on Linux platform.
Experience in scripting such as Linux shell scripting and Python.
Good understanding of Linux kernel and device drivers, particularly graphics drivers.
Good knowledge of Red Hat Package Management, RPM, yum repositories.
Good knowledge of infrastructure tools such as build management tools (Jenkins), Configuration management tools (Ansible), tracking tools (JIRA).
Good knowledge of Red Hat Linux kickstart process and configuration.
Knowledge of optimization of OS platform.
Experience in application upgrade installer and knowledge of installer mechanisms that implement back-up and roll-back in case of any failure during upgrades.
Fair understanding of cybersecurity, security vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
Experience in designing and implementing security fixes.
Assessment for RHEL platform upgrade and OTS components compatibility.
Build and Run environment setup for upgraded OS/platform and OTS components.
Upgrading product OS platform and OTS components.
Design and Implementation of software security fixes.
Verification testing for the ported applications and upgraded platform.
