About The Position

The Linen Transporter stores and distributes linen for a hospital facility, conducting themselves courteously and professionally while complying with HCS and hospital policies. This temporary position may have the possibility of becoming full time and is located at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The anticipated starting salary is $16.00 per hour.

The position works within a healthcare facility. Scheduling needs to be flexible to provide hospital services, with hours covering either 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 4:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Rotation for every other weekend and some holidays is required.

Background checks and drug screenings are required; an employment offer is contingent upon successful completion of these screenings.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Excellent ability to understand and use software relevant to the position.
• Successful completion of required background checks and drug screenings.
• Flexibility to cover either listed shift and work a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Pack clean linen orders into carts for distribution.
• Deliver filled linen carts to the appropriate facility areas and fully par stock assigned patient-care units and ancillary areas as required.
• Retrieve soiled linen carts from facility areas, take them to the soil room, and return empty soil carts to the areas.
• Accurately record information on paperwork and enter data into the tracking program.
• Store clean linen on shelves after verifying the numbers and types of items.
• Keep the linen room clean and orderly.
• Conduct oneself courteously and professionally and comply with HCS and hospital policies.
