About The Position

The Linen Technician ensures daily linen distribution responsibilities are completed safely, promptly, and efficiently. The role follows direction from the Linen Distribution Manager (LDM) and supports linen delivery and collection, inventory management, customer service, and upkeep of linen storage areas in accordance with Crown policies and procedures. The technician works with both clean and soiled linen and may perform duties of other positions on the shift when team members are absent.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.

• Comfortable working in a team-based environment.
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening, as well as meet vaccine requirements or complete non-vaccine attestations.
• Able to walk 3–5 miles per day at a healthcare facility.
• Able to reach, bend, and lift individual linen bundles weighing up to 10 pounds when loading and unloading.
• Able to push or pull linen transportation devices requiring up to 70 pounds of displaced push/pull weight.
• Able to safely handle soiled healthcare textiles.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction from the Linen Distribution Manager and complete assigned duties safely, promptly, and efficiently.
• Work the assigned schedule reliably and punctually.
• Deliver clean linen neatly and orderly; collect and transport soiled linen; record linen inventories and quantities; and organize and clean linen storage areas.
• Receive customer service calls, record their nature, and respond to requests promptly and professionally.
• Observe, record, and report linen abuse and poor utilization to the LDM.
• Manage linen inventory levels.
• Inventory exchange carts, replenish them to prescribed par levels, and transport them safely to designated areas.
• Inventory top-off carts and replenish them to prescribed par levels.
• Record data using the appropriate method, such as tablets or order sheets.
• Collect soiled linen and transport it to the soiled linen storage room.
• Maintain the linen room in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
• Be willing and able to work with clean and soiled linen in accordance with Crown policies and procedures.
• Fulfill the job duties of other positions on the shift when team members are absent.
