About The Position

Under the direction of the Team Leader and Production Team Leader, the Linens Grader processes donated linen. The role includes sorting and selecting linen for quality, preparing it for the sales floor, and merchandising it according to Goodwill standards. Linen is graded by brand and condition through Goodwill’s good, better, and best program. The Grader also maintains a clean, neat, and safe production workstation.

Requirements

• Ability to adhere to the organization’s Core Principles.
• Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling.
• Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to listen to and follow directions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of linen brands and varieties.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Vision abilities including close and distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
• Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side, lean, and remove items from containers.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail and/or stock handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort donated linen and place non-sellable items into outlet containers.
• Grade merchandise by brand and condition using Goodwill’s good, better, and best program.
• Rotate merchandise in a timely manner using Goodwill’s four-color process.
• Keep the production area clean, neat, and safe.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow the appropriate dress code, including wearing a name badge.
• Pull and detail the linen area during the power hour process according to established procedures.
• Perform assigned duties within the framework of the organization’s Core Principles.
• Attend in-service sessions and related training as assigned by the Team Leader.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Team Lead and Production Team Lead.
