About The Position

The Linen Courier/Driver is responsible for loading linen bags in delivery sequence on delivery vans and delivering them to properties along a predetermined route. This role also involves picking up linen bags from properties. The driver must provide service to the public, maintaining a neat and professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions. There may be requirements to work in the processing and distribution facility, including sorting clean and dirty linens, folding linens with an automatic folder, and creating linen packages for delivery. The position also requires providing cross-departmental assistance, working with various departments, owner special projects, and company affiliated projects and initiatives. Exemplary customer service to guests, owners, coworkers, and vendors is expected, along with expedient resolution of assigned tasks. The driver must represent Oak Island Accommodations with extreme professionalism, looking out for the company’s best interest while providing efficient, quality work. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old
High school diploma or equivalent
Has a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance
Safe driving record and at least 2 years of unsupervised driving experience in a passenger car or larger U.S.
Is able to work weekends and holidays
Is able to work in inclement weather conditions
Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally
Lift to 30 pounds
Able to carry up to 70 pounds
Use your arms and legs, and also sit for periods of time
Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation

Responsibilities

Load linen bags in delivery sequence on delivery vans
Deliver linen bags to properties along a predetermined route
Pick-up linen bags from properties along a predetermined route
May be required to load and unload bags of linens or supplies weighing as much as 70lbs
Provide service to the public
Maintain a neat and professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions
May be required to work in processing and distribution facility
Sorting clean and dirty linens
Folding linens with the help of an automatic folder
Creating linen packages for delivery
