About The Position

Oklahoma Electric Cooperative is accepting applications for a 2027 Lineman internship in Norman, Oklahoma. The internship is expected to start in January 2027 and run for approximately 8–16 weeks. Lineman Interns will gain hands-on experience in overhead and underground construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an Electric Power Line Technology or similar degree or certificate program.
• Trained and certified in climbing.
• Trained and certified in First Aid and CPR.
• Basic knowledge of electricity.
• Have and maintain a Class A CDL, or obtain one prior to graduation.
• Live in OEC's service territory during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in overhead construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Gain hands-on experience in underground construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
