About The Position

This position is a Processing Line Worker in an egg-processing company. Under the direction of the Processing Supervisor, the Line Worker performs processing tasks to ensure the highest-quality product possible. The work includes handling and grading eggs through washing and breaking operations, maintaining clean work areas, and following food safety, quality, hygiene, and regulatory requirements. Employees must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and wear required personal protective equipment in applicable working conditions.

Requirements

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Knowledge of safety programs and processes such as Confined Space, LOTO, and Hazcom.
Equipment operation skills.
Ability to stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, and stoop; lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally; and sit and climb occasionally.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, including requirements such as wearing hairnets and clean clothes.

Responsibilities

Perform all duties in compliance with HACCP, SQF, cGMP, and regulatory protocols, and follow food safety principles.
Handle and store products and materials to prevent damage or contamination; examine products for conformance to quality standards.
Maintain personnel and process hygiene requirements.
Grade and align eggs entering the washer section and ensure their smooth transition from the main egg belt conveyor to the accumulating station.
Keep the work area clean, track and dispose of inedible material in the auger, and clean washer screens.
Perform chemical checks and foam control in washers, and return re-wash eggs to the egg flow.
Grade eggs from the washers according to SOP and ensure their smooth transition from the transfer room to the breaking machine.
Assist as needed during breaks and cleanup.
Grade broken eggs from the breaking machine, removing bad or blood-spot eggs and shells from cups.
After the production shift, clean the Breaking, Transfer, and Shell rooms to meet USDA standards.
