About The Position

The Line Worker feeds cheese onto a production line for wrapping and packaging, weighs product, packs finished products into boxes, and operates related packaging equipment. The role also involves inspecting packages and boxes for proper seals and code dates, maintaining sanitation, and following Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF requirements, and safety rules. The position works inside a clean manufacturing environment. Shifts are subject to availability. Normal operations run Monday through Friday, with possible Saturday work depending on production and staffing needs. Saturday shifts are generally six hours. Hours worked beyond eight in a workday or 40 straight-time hours in a workweek are compensated at one and one-half times the straight-time rate.

Requirements

• Have good organizational and communication skills.
• Be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 25 pounds frequently and 45 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; education beyond high school is a plus.
• Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Feed cheese onto the production line for wrapping and packaging.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF requirements, and established safety rules and regulations.
• Set up and operate scales to weigh product for packaging.
• Pack cheese products into boxes, stack boxes on pallets, and inspect packages and boxes for proper seals and code dates.
• Understand and use box-erecting, case-sealing, and labeling equipment.
• Sanitize the work area and equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
