About The Position

The Line Server expertly sets up and serves both hot and cold side dishes, ensuring all items are organized, properly portioned, and presented according to established standards, while maintaining a clean, consistent, and visually appealing serving line. This role involves interacting with guests, describing menu items, fulfilling orders accurately, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. The Line Server is expected to work efficiently, especially during peak periods, and coordinate with other team members to ensure a smooth and positive guest experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age or older
  • Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Skilled in cooking, portioning, and preparing a variety of menu items
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Ability to plate and garnish dishes to standard
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Team oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast paced kitchen environment
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members
  • Valid Food Handlers Certification
  • Valid Alcohol Service Certification
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Team members are REQUIRED to use cut-resistant gloves when using a knife for cutting food or prepping fruit and vegetables

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a BBQ restaurant preferred
  • High School degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet guest upon arrival and thank them as they leave
  • Learn a comprehensive understanding of restaurant menu offerings, including meats, sides, salsas, and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to guests by describing menu items, answering questions, and offering recommendations
  • Be able to work efficiently and quickly to serve guests in a timely manner during peak periods, managing guest flow and coordinating with other team members to ensure a smooth and great service experience for guests
  • Accurately fulfill guest orders by listening carefully to preferences, assembling trays accurately, and verifying orders before serving to ensure accuracy and meeting guest expectations.
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served
  • Ensure the service line is properly stocked throughout the day
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
  • Strictly follow health and safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices, to maintain a clean and safe environment and prevent foodborne illnesses
  • Serve deserts and sides as necessary
  • Clean restaurant dining areas when assigned
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or general manager
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by upper management at any time
