About The Position

NBCUniversal is seeking a fast, nimble Line Producer for NBC News Daily, a 2-4pm show. This role is for someone who thrives in the control room, excels at building daily rundowns, and enjoys collaborating with a team. The ideal candidate stays cool under pressure, reacts quickly to breaking news, and thinks strategically. We are looking for an individual with a strong editorial mind and sharp production skills, who understands the rhythm of live television and can maintain precision and energy throughout the show.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in broadcast, live streaming, or cable television.
3+ years of experience working on live daily shows.
At least 1+ years of experience as a line producer.
Demonstrated and proven excellent editorial judgment and understanding of journalistic standards.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant working experience.
Willing and able to work in person five days a week in New York, NY.

Readiness and willingness to jump in during major breaking news, including weekends or late nights.
Ability to work calmly under intense deadlines.

Responsibilities

Work with senior producers and EPs to build daily rundowns and oversee changes during breaking news.
Collaborate with show directors to block and time programming.
Approve and copy edit scripts as needed.
Pitch ideas for the show.
Work with producers to develop the strongest elements for each segment.
Craft engaging headlines and teases for both breaking news and scheduled programming, regardless of time constraints.
Write fresh copy as needed.
Communicate time and roll cues with guests and correspondents.
Coordinate with the news desk and booking team to request reporters and guests for the show.
