About The Position

NBCUniversal is seeking an experienced Producer/Editor for NBC News NOW. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience in broadcast, digital, or cable, with field experience.
• Journalist willing to conduct original reporting by making phone calls.
• Possess big ideas along with the journalistic writing and research skills to execute them.
• Ability to successfully complete work under tight deadlines while collaborating.
• Thorough knowledge of current events, U.S. politics, and pop culture.
• Thrives in breaking news situations with short air times.
• Willing to work on weekends, late nights, or after a long day when the news cycle demands.
• Willing to work in New York, New York and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pitch relevant, timely, and compelling ideas for day-of and future segments.
• Shoot, script, and edit original videos.
• Collaborate with correspondents to develop and execute strong visual stories with clear narratives and well-researched journalism.
• Work in the show rundown to build segments and write intros for packages and other taped elements.
• Edit on AVID and Adobe Premiere, selecting the best video and sound for assigned stories.
• Order graphics through template-based graphics systems and the graphics team.
• Find and book engaging guests for live and taped segments, and conduct pre-interviews.
• Produce stories from a desk using remote interviews and available video material, and be comfortable shooting in the field on DSLR and full-frame cameras.
• Multi-task and juggle producing multiple stories for regular and breaking-news programming.
• Quality check all video content.
• Keep Senior Producers and the EP informed of daily news developments for assigned stories.
• Collaborate with multiple show teams and day parts across NBC News Now and the network.
