About The Position

The Line Operator will be responsible for effectively operating the wrapper and all equipment on the assigned line necessary for the proper production of all items. This role involves troubleshooting and correcting problems, performing basic preventative maintenance, and running equipment at the proper speed to ensure an efficient flow of product. The operator must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), maintain a safe work environment, and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must be willing and able to understand and follow directions.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to work in extreme temperatures ranging from 30 – 100 degrees.
  • Must be willing and able to walk/stand for up to 12 hours per day.
  • 6 months work experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing facility.
  • Must have 6 months of work history in the past 12 months.
  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate wrapper and all equipment on assigned line for proper production.
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems with equipment.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance (PMs).
  • Run equipment at proper speed to provide efficient flow of product.
  • Follow all GMPs.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Set-up and tear down all equipment required to run a given product.
  • Maintain proper operating speed to maximize product efficiency and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Obtain daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.
  • Understand and report on KPIs.
  • Work as a team with a line coordinator to operate the line efficiently.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments or repairs to equipment to provide superior quality and appearance of the product.
  • Train other operators on equipment as needed.
  • Train and lead in all safety procedures that are job-related.
  • Maintain equipment to ensure the line is production ready.
  • Maintain a clean work area and adhere to 6S standards on a regular basis.
  • Produce a quality product at an efficient rate.
  • Promote a teamwork environment.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
