This position reports to the Production Manager. According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as: Non-Exempt.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of safe machine operation practices.
  • Must be able to read and understand English
  • Knowledge of basic math/calculations.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, and/or schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Oracle or Optel preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assemble subassemblies and/or final product following instructions from matrix documentation and SOP’s: place, wire, solder, glue, connect and encapsulate PC boards and/or test units. Test, label, package and deliver to stockroom. Retrieve from the stockroom any consumables needed in the area.
  • Function as an active member of a production performance team.
  • Continuous motion of hands and frequent lifting of light to medium weight material. Most work is done in a sitting position.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention requiring constant alertness to place, align and solder parts, and assemble units.
  • Enter all inventory/scrap transactions. Fix inventory discrepancies.
  • Train employees on standard work.
  • Assist with training
  • Act as line of contact for all machine, fixture, and documentation issues.
  • Responsible for quality and defect and oversight in lead area- Conduct regular quality audits to ensure quality meets company standards
  • Responsible to meet shift production goals- Assist production manager in coaching employees to improve productivity while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Communicate and work effectively with subassembly and product teams, other Group Leaders, Production Supervisors, Plant Managers and other personnel as needed.
  • Daily discussions with plant personnel regarding personnel moves to ensure proper coverage for absences.
  • Determine work assignments within lead area for optimal performance.
  • Partner with Production Manager to provide and deliver feedback on employee performance and performance reviews
  • Communicate with Production Analyst on all customer delivery requirements.
  • Responsible for implementation of lean and 5 S practices.
