About The Position

Landmark Hotel Group is seeking a PM Line Cook at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront in Suffolk, Virginia. The role prepares menu items according to recipes, yield guides, and department standards, while setting up and maintaining the workstation and keeping the Chef/Kitchen Manager and food-and-beverage service staff informed about supplies, shortages, and unavailable menu items. The position requires one year of line-cook experience at a hotel or full-service restaurant, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. The employee must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required, and obtain Food Handling and Sanitation Certification within four weeks of hire.

Requirements

One year of experience as a line cook at a hotel or full-service restaurant.
Ability to obtain Food Handling and Sanitation Certification within four weeks of hire.
Commensurate or transferable skill set.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

Set up the workstation with the tools, equipment, and supplies required by standards.
Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Check the production schedule and pars, and establish priority items for the day.
Inform the Chef/Kitchen Manager of supplies that need to be requisitioned.
Transport supplies from the storeroom and stock them in designated areas.
Begin preparation of items needed for the day's menu.
Prepare menu items according to recipes, yield guides, and department standards.
Inform the Chef/Kitchen Manager of shortages before items run out.
Inform food-and-beverage service staff of unavailable items and available menu specials during the meal period.
