About The Position
McMenamins Anderson School is hiring a Line Cook. McMenamins is a family-owned company serving handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits, and coffee alongside pub fare at locations across Oregon and Washington. The company emphasizes community, art, history, music, food, drink, and fun, and welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds. Line cooks handle kitchen tasks from opening through closing, including preparing and presenting hot and cold food products such as salads, sandwiches, pastas, appetizers, pizzas, weekly specials, and sauté and grill items. They organize and clean their work areas and work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. The work can be physically demanding and requires mental agility and multitasking. Employees must work safely, report safety concerns to management, stay current on company events, history, and products, and perform other duties assigned by the Manager on Duty. The wage range is $20.00–$23.13 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Obtain and maintain a current food handlers card.
- Ability to handle physically demanding work, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Previous cooking experience is preferred.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present hot and cold food products, including salads, sandwiches, pastas, appetizers, pizzas, weekly specials, and sauté and grill items.
- Handle kitchen tasks from opening through closing.
- Organize and clean the work area.
- Work safely and report safety concerns to management.
- Keep current on company events, history, and products.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager on Duty.
