About The Position

Prepare food of consistent quality and assist with kitchen functions at The Whitley, a luxury hotel in Buckhead. Follow recipe cards and production and portion standards, prepare items for service, maintain proper food storage and temperatures, support buffet service, and help control food costs and waste. Operate and clean kitchen equipment and perform other job-related duties as assigned. Hotel experience is preferred.

Requirements

Finger and hand dexterity to operate food machinery, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move goods weighing up to 100 pounds on a continuous schedule, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Prepare food to consistent quality standards, following recipe cards and production and portion requirements for server orders.
Prepare food items in advance while avoiding overproduction.
Date food containers, rotate food according to HEI Hotels and Resorts standards, and keep perishables at proper temperatures.
Check pars for the shift, determine preparation needs, pull items from the freezer, and set up the line.
Identify out-of-stock items and possible shortages.
Assist with keeping the buffet stocked.
Return unused food items to designated storage areas for the next shift, covering and dating perishables.
Assist with plans and actions to address food-cost problems and control food waste, loss, and usage.
Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment.
Comply with attendance rules and maintain regular availability for work.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
