Requirements

  • Ability to be organized and capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods of time in varied climate conditions.
  • Ability to carry and lift up to 50 to 80 lbs frequently.
  • Ability to go up and down stairs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to travel locally for outside catering functions as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year of cooking or kitchen experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
  • Ensure the restaurant is 100% ready for operation and guests.
  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs.
  • Date all food containers and rotate, ensuring all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up.
  • Note any out of stock items or possible shortages.
  • Return all food items not used on the next shift to designated storage areas, covering and dating all perishables.
  • Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, and loss.
  • Operate, maintain, and properly clean all kitchen line cook equipment.
  • Understand and comply with proper food preparation, cooking, handling, and storage.
  • Understand and comply with kitchen sanitation, safety, and equipment usage.
  • Assist in putting away incoming orders and deliveries.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
