Requirements

  • Two years of experience in a similar professional environment, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook.
  • Experience working with a pizza oven.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Follows directions and instructions.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Positive outlook and cooperative with all employees.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Familiar with industry's best practices (safety/sanitation).

Nice To Haves

  • A culinary degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
  • Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
  • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
  • Perform tasks with speed and accuracy (meet ticket times).
  • Set up and maintain a clean work station following protocol.
  • Adheres to sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Maintain quality and freshness of ingredients and products.
  • Comply with all rules and policies outlined in the MCBC employee handbook.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.
