About The Position

Chook Charcoal Chicken is seeking a Line Cook & Dishwasher for their Summer 2026 season at the Chook on Pearl location. This role involves preparing menu items to Chook's service standards, managing station workflow, cleanliness, and timely preparation. The Line Cook will be trained on multiple stations including Hot Apps, Salads, and Rotisserie. Additionally, the role includes dishwashing responsibilities, ensuring the cleanliness of all kitchenware. Chook is committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion.

  • Must be able to work mornings, days, weekends, and evenings with a flexible schedule that may change often.
  • Potential staff will need to communicate school, other work, and all other special schedule requests prior to the beginning of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items to the standards of service at Chook.
  • Manage the station’s workflow, cleanliness, and timeliness of preparation.
  • Oversee the cooking and preparation process from start to finish.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all pots, pans, dishes, and glassware.
  • Act as a representative for Chook by greeting all staff and guests in a friendly manner.
  • Correctly prepare food with Chook's standards of service.
  • Report food waste to restaurant management.
  • Maintain a clean workstation and restaurant while on shift.
  • Perform pre-shift side work duties, running side work throughout shift, and closing or end of shift side work.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations at all times.
  • Fill in any role that may be needed during a shift.
  • Ask questions and for help when necessary.
  • Follow all safety procedures at Chook.
  • Follow all health code and proper food handling standards.
  • Arrive on time for all shifts in a clean uniform with good personal hygiene.
