About The Position

Toromont Cat is looking for a Line Boring Welder/Machinist to join their Service department. This role provides technical expertise for the repair and fabrication of parts and structures in the shop, ensuring superior customer service. The position requires the candidate to live within drivable proximity to Sudbury, as no accommodation is provided. Various schedules are available, and shift premiums may apply. The role is full-time and permanent.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in the field of welding or conventional machining
• 3 years professional experience working with GMAW, SMAW and FCAW techniques

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the technique of line-boring (huge asset)
• CWB or Canadian Red seal certified (an asset)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Operate electric, acetylene and semi-automatic welding and automatic burning equipment effectively and efficiently
• Fabricate structures from drawings or sketches
• Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards out in the field
• Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, dissembling and assembling relative components
• Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication
• Maintain and build strong customer relations
