About The Position
The Limited Radiologic Technologist prepares patients for standard x-ray examinations and performs them using appropriate technique and positioning in accordance with provider orders. The role includes updating medical records, operating x-ray equipment, and notifying the imaging supervisor of equipment issues. Additional back-office duties may be assigned. A sign-on bonus of $2,000 is offered for full-time Limited Radiologic Technologists.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Limited Radiologic Technology Program.
- Current state Limited Radiologic Technologist (LXMO) licensure with Spine, Extremities, and Chest Modules.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Nice To Haves
- Prior Limited Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
- Experience performing Medical Assistant duties preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform standard x-ray examinations according to provider orders.
- Position patients and x-ray equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
- Follow prescribed safety standards when operating radiologic equipment and use appropriate shielding protocols.
- Select the length and intensity of radiation exposure for each patient or according to the examination specifications.
- Use CR and DR systems.
- Examine images for density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
- Send and store images.
- Update medical records.
- Notify the imaging supervisor of equipment issues.
- Perform additional back-office duties and other duties as assigned.
