About The Position

The City of Dickinson is seeking a dependable Limited-Hour Library Building Service Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for library staff and visitors. This position supports daily library operations, programs, meetings, and special events.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and safely perform the duties of the position.
Must be available to work mornings between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

Nice To Haves

Up to one year of janitorial, custodial, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, offices, and other assigned spaces.
Vacuum, mop, buff, and shampoo floors and carpets.
Dust, clean windows and blinds, and maintain interior surfaces.
Empty trash and recycling and restock cleaning supplies.
Perform basic facility tasks, such as replacing light bulbs.
Assist with meeting and event setup, room arrangements, and occasional furniture moves.
Lock and unlock the building and report security concerns.
Clear snow, ice, and debris from sidewalks and entryways.
Operate cleaning equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, and pressure washers.
Respond to emergency cleaning and facility needs as needed.
Attend required safety training and perform other duties as assigned.
