About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking a Lighting Technician responsible for electrical lighting maintenance. This role involves changing bulbs, ballasts, and drivers on existing lighting fixtures, often working from aerial lifts and interacting directly with customers. The technician will be dispatched daily to resolve customer lighting issues professionally and safely, completing all site documentation on an electronic device. The selected candidate will represent M.C. Dean as a strong moral character, focusing on customer satisfaction, quality, and safety. Responsibilities include assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components, installing lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components, safe operation of aerial lifts and bucket trucks, testing lighting systems and continuity of circuits, inspecting installation sites, diagnosing malfunctioning systems, reading contract drawings, and troubleshooting EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience.
Reliable Transportation
Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
Must be committed to excellence and generate high quality work.
Must consistently report to work on time, work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment.
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis.
Demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials.
Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Responsibilities

Electrical lighting maintenance scope which will include changing bulbs, ballasts, and drivers on existing lighting fixtures.
Working from aerial lifts in most cases and be a direct interface with our customers.
Resolving the customers lighting problems in the highest professional and safe manner.
Complete all site documentation on an electronic device which will require knowledge of current smart phone / personal tablet technology.

Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components.
Installing and mounting lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components.
Safe operation of aerial lifts and bucket trucks.
Testing lighting systems and continuity of circuits in fixtures, using testing devices.
Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
Diagnosing malfunctioning lighting systems and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Reading contract drawings.
Trouble shooting EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.
