Lighting Design Engineer Internship - Summer 2027
About The Position
P2S is seeking an Electrical Engineering student for a Summer 2027 internship with its Lighting Studio team in Long Beach, California. Interns gain hands-on experience in office and field settings while contributing to client projects, visiting project sites, attending internal training, and participating in company events. The program is intended to provide a positive work and training experience aligned with interns’ career goals and education levels. The internship lasts 10–12 weeks, beginning in June and ending in August or September depending on the candidate’s availability. The schedule is in-office Monday through Friday. Hourly pay is $24 for undergraduate students and $26 for graduate students.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at an accredited university and majoring in Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic, multiple-engagement environment.
- Dedication to teamwork and a strong work initiative.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas.
- Detail-oriented.
Nice To Haves
- Training in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- FE/EIT qualification.
- Training in the use of CAD/BIM standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist the engineering team with ongoing projects.
- Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project development.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.
- Create and modify engineering drawings as part of the design process.
- Participate in prototyping to test and validate design concepts.
- Assist with tests of engineering solutions to assess functionality and reliability.
- Work with quality assurance teams to identify and address potential issues.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation.
- Generate reports and summaries communicating project progress.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with project goals.
- Participate in team meetings and provide insights and feedback.
- Engage in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
- Seek opportunities for continuous learning and development in engineering.
