Light Duty Technician
About The Position
Cornerstone Auto Group is hiring a Certified Light Duty Technician at Cornerstone Ford/Chrysler in Elk River, Minnesota. The role performs vehicle inspections, diagnoses malfunctions, and completes repairs efficiently and accurately, with little supervision. The technician documents work performed and recommended, communicates with the Service Advisor, and determines whether additional safety or service work is needed. The position also requires compliance with applicable regulations and safe use of tools and equipment, along with keeping customer vehicles and shop areas clean. The position is full-time, on the day shift, and offers an hourly salary range of $23.00–$31.00.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of technician experience.
- Experience working on all types of vehicles.
- Current, valid driver's license with a driving record that meets insurance company standards.
- Willingness and ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, lift, and stand for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Perform work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, with little supervision.
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
- Accurately record all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
- Communicate effectively with the Service Advisor.
- Examine assigned vehicles to determine whether further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Understand, stay updated on, and comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know requirements.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and wear appropriate safety equipment.
- Keep customers’ cars clean.
- Keep shop areas neat and clean.
