Light Duty Construction Technician
About The Position
United Uptime Services is seeking an experienced, hardworking Light Duty Construction Technician in the DFW, Texas area. Also known as a Heavy Maintenance Technician, this role assists with construction and installation work on petroleum fueling systems, including underground and aboveground tanks, fuel dispensers, spill containment systems, piping, electrical wiring, and excavation. Work also includes concrete removal and replacement and other petroleum-related tasks. Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required, with the amount of travel varying. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Pass a drug test and background check.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work out of town, including overnight stays.
- Professional demeanor and ability to develop customer relations and provide superior service.
- Troubleshooting and logical problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Class A CDL; the company will pay to certify the right individual.
- Construction work experience.
- Heavy equipment operation experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct construction projects, including concrete removal and replacement and manhole and spill containment replacements.
- Frame, pour, mix, and finish small portions of concrete.
- Operate company work trucks, skid steers, forklifts, and man-lifts in accordance with equipment and company safety protocols.
- Follow safe housekeeping practices, including cleaning up job sites at the end of each day.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper and safe working order.
- Verify that work in progress is accurate and complies with codes, project specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with peers, work groups, clients, and supervisors.
- Assist with installation and maintenance of petroleum fueling systems, including tanks, fuel dispensers, spill containment systems, piping, electrical wiring, and excavation.
