About The Position

Day & Zimmermann is hiring a full-time Light Driver for its team in Parsons, Kansas, at a pay rate of $22.52 per hour. The role supports ammunition production through vehicle and forklift operation, line-support and shipment order picking, preparation of shipping dunnage, freight inspection and counting, inventory functions, and material transactions. The driver inspects vehicles, recommends repairs, and may make minor adjustments. The position may also perform other duties in the ammunition building process that are at the same or a lower level of difficulty.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience.
Forklift experience or qualification.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to operate vehicles and forklifts safely.
Knowledge of security regulations, including ATF, DSS, and Homeland Security requirements.
Ability to work independently.
Strong math skills.
Effective communication skills.
Reading comprehension at a minimum sixth-grade level.

Responsibilities

Inspect vehicles for proper operating condition, recommend necessary repairs, and make minor adjustments as needed.
Pick orders for line support and shipments.
Build dunnage for outbound shipments and assemble various types of merchandise.
Check and count freight for accuracy or damage.
Perform necessary inventory functions and material transactions.
Perform other duties in the ammunition building process at the same or a lower level of difficulty.
