About The Position

The Lift Truck Operator pulls, packs, and repacks orders; loads merchandise for customers; unloads trucks; and stocks or transfers merchandise using a lift truck or tugger. The role follows lift-truck procedures and instructions from the Control Booth, maintains assigned aisles and a clean warehouse area, puts merchandise away properly, checks daily closing assignments, supports other warehouse departments as needed, and performs other duties as directed by management. The position works indoors in a climate-controlled environment and may involve tasks up to 45 feet in the air.

Requirements

Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must pass the written and physical lift-truck licensing test.
Must weigh less than 300 pounds, per the manufacturer's requirement.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Positive attitude when working with customers.
Knowledge of merchandise-handling procedures.
Knowledge of employment, merchandise-handling, and safety procedures.
Ability to perform the physical activities listed, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening, and repetitive motion.

Responsibilities

Pull orders and pack or repack merchandise.
Load merchandise for customers and unload trucks.
Stock and transfer merchandise using a lift truck or tugger.
Follow lift-truck procedures and Control Booth instructions regarding merchandise to pull.
Maintain excellent customer service.
Keep the warehouse area clean and maintain the aisle assigned by the manager.
Put merchandise away properly.
Check daily closing assignments and responsibilities.
Assist other warehouse departments as needed.
Perform other duties as directed by management.
