About The Position

Homewood is seeking a Lift Operations Supervisor to join the Lift & Gondola Operations Department. The Lift Operations Supervisor is responsible for organizing and overseeing the day-to-day operation of Lift Operations and supervising the team of Lift Operators. The Supervisor will ensure that the Senior Lead Operator is consistently moving between chairlift terminals to ensure proper setup each morning, ensure Lead Operators are conducting breaks and lunch breaks on time, as well as verifying that operations are running smoothly and consistently, to ensure a safe, organized, and high-quality experience for all guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of Lift Operations Experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Supervisor, or similar, experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead seasonal staff.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver employee training, including preseason and on-the-job training.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, operational procedures, and risk management.
  • Ability to manage daily operations independently and provide leadership in the absence of management.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of seasonal staff, ensuring a qualified and well-prepared team is in place for the season.
  • Coordinate and lead preseason training while ensuring that all required employment and compliance paperwork is completed accurately, on time, and is always audit-ready.
  • Ensure all operations are A.N.S.I. B77 compliant, at all times.
  • Align the staff around clear departmental goals while providing ongoing coaching to ensure timely, high-quality results.
  • Oversee and deliver on-the-job training, reinforcing operational procedures, safety protocols, and exceptional guest service.
  • Organize and oversee the daily setup of mazes and signage to accommodate expected guest demand and traffic flow.
  • Provide leadership and operational support to Lead Operators, ensuring the efficient execution of daily operations.
  • Work closely with leaders across all resort departments to support shared objectives and ensure seamless operations.
  • Act as the department’s primary leader during the Manager’s absence by overseeing daily operations, representing the department in management meetings, and administering employee discipline in accordance with company policies.
  • Foster long-term staff retention by recognizing employee contributions and building a supportive, inclusive workplace environment.
  • Snow removal.
  • Other duties as assigned.
