Lifestyle Show Spring Semester Intern
About The Position
WPHL-TV/CW is seeking an energetic, dynamic intern to support its lifestyle program, “Positively Philly,” and its Creative Services team. The internship offers an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Creative Services and marketing, how they relate to other television-station departments, and how they shape the station’s on-air look, identity, and brand. The intern will work with the “Positively Philly” team to produce the daily live lifestyle show, which airs from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The intern will also support the Creative Services team with on-air promotional spots, commercial production for local clients, and community outreach projects with local nonprofit organizations.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
- Some knowledge of Adobe programs, including Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
- Some knowledge of DSLR and/or ENG cameras.
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Some knowledge of working with social media.
Nice To Haves
- Some knowledge of WordPress.
Responsibilities
- Assist with writing and producing broadcast television promotional and commercial spots.
- Assist with digital marketing for the website and social media.
- Assist with gathering and researching story ideas for “Positively Philly.”
- Assist with greeting studio guests for “Positively Philly.”
- Write and produce at least one promotional spot to air on PHL17.
- Assist with staging and managing off-site station promotional events.
- Learn to write voice-over copy and submit it to voice-over talent.
- Shadow and observe Writer/Producers as they create spots and learn how those spots are assembled.
