About The Position

Nexstar Media Inc. and its Portland operations, including KOIN-TV, KRCW-TV / Portland’s CW, and KOIN+, are seeking a full-time host for a daily lifestyle show airing on KOIN-TV. The Host produces and hosts the program, conducts interviews in the studio and on location, and develops social and digital engagement through locally focused content featuring businesses, guests, and social influencers. The position also supports sales presentations, station events, and digital publishing. The role involves working under deadline pressure in a high-stress environment, with changing priorities and multiple projects. Travel may be required, and the Host must be willing and able to work any shift, including nights, overnights, early mornings, days, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in film, photography, television, news, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Proven experience as a host or on-air personality.
Ability to write, shoot, and edit packages.
Ability to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying production timelines.
Energetic, positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
Highly motivated self-starter able to work well independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with newsroom computer systems, computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Willingness and ability to work any and all shifts as necessary, including nights, overnights, early mornings, days, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to sit for long periods and perform the described office and communication tasks, including phone conversations, email, writing, discussions, decision-making, and working near others indoors.

Responsibilities

Provide daily on-camera contributions to a daily television show.
Generate and brainstorm local content ideas with sales managers and the content team.
Produce, write, and stack show segments.
Interview show guests and clients in the studio and on location.
Collect information, video, and photos at remote locations for post-production.
Greet and assist guests during show preparations.
Research show topics and develop questions for guests.
Assist in booking guests, interviews, and local segments.
Assist with sales presentations, including meeting with clients.
Participate in station-sponsored and other events to promote the show.
Maintain social media accounts and assist with online content using WordPress.
Produce and post digital content for digital platforms and the CTV streaming channel, including clipping show segments and writing headlines.
Attend daily show meetings.
