About The Position

Summer Camp is seeking a reliable, attentive Lifeguard to oversee swim lessons and supervise open swim for campers throughout the summer season. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children in a fun, active environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety. The position is located at an indoor pool at 1001 Deming Way, Madison, WI 53717. The season runs from June 10 to August 21, with specific hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additional optional hours may be available on Fridays to assist with field trips.

Requirements

• Current Lifeguard Certification (required)
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (required)
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Positive, professional attitude with the ability to engage with children ages 5–12
• Reliable and punctual

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience lifeguarding
• Experience working with children in group settings

Responsibilities

• Provide active lifeguard supervision during swim lessons and open swim
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers in and around the pool
• Enforce pool rules and respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies
• Support swim instructors as needed during lessons
• Maintain a clean and organized pool deck area
• Communicate clearly with camp staff and leadership
