About The Position

The Lifeguard helps create a safe, fun, and encouraging environment for swimmers. The role involves monitoring pool activities, protecting swimmers, responding to emergencies, and supporting a positive experience for students and families. Lifeguards also support instructors and swim programs, keep the pool area safe and organized, and provide customer service while maintaining safety oversight. Shifts are set and include evenings and weekends, with opportunities to pick up additional hours. The role is part-time and is suitable for students and other part-time workers.

Requirements

• Current Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (Red Cross or equivalent) are required.
• Strong swimming and rescue skills.
• Ability to stay aware and act quickly in an emergency situation.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and calm under pressure.
• Friendly, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
• Must be at least 15 years old.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool activities to maintain a safe, positive environment.
• Enforce pool rules and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Perform rescues and administer first aid and CPR/AED when necessary.
• Conduct safety checks and report hazards or maintenance needs.
• Maintain attention to reduce risks and promote safety.
• Support swim instructors and help educate swimmers on water safety.
• Keep the pool area clean, organized, and hazard-free.
• Participate in regular training and safety drills.
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining safety oversight.
• Assist with special events and swim programs as needed.
