About The Position

Maintains the health and safety of all patrons in the Recreation Center Natatorium. Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean swimming pool environment, performing necessary rescues, light cleaning and maintenance of the pool, steam room, sauna, and locker room areas. Requires maintaining personal fitness to perform these functions and knowledge of emergency action plans.

Requirements

• Must be available to work 5:00-11:00am or 6:30am-12:00pm or 12:00pm-5:00pm. Not hiring for shifts after 5:00pm.
• Must possess a current Lifeguard Training certification to include life guarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and first aid skills
• Must be able to complete all swimming skills in correspondence with the life guarding exam
• Good interpersonal skills to communicate with the public and co-workers
• Knowledgeable in emergency action plans
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• A self-starter–ability to look for jobs that need to be done
• One year of high school completed

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in lifeguarding preferred
• Water Safety Instructor certification preferred

Responsibilities
