About The Position

The Lifeguard at the Schalmo Family YMCA oversees the safety of swimmers and other people in the aquatic area. The role requires remaining rescue-ready during shifts and attending mandatory in-service trainings. Candidates should have a positive attitude and work well as part of a team. The starting wage is $12.00, commensurate with experience. Part-time staff receive complimentary memberships and discounted rates for child care and most programs.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of age.
• Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
• Current BLS (CPR) and First Aid certification.
• Willingness to be trained if not currently certified.

Responsibilities

• Attend mandatory in-service trainings.
