About The Position

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Lifeguard/Swim Instructor at Meadow Park Sports Centre. This casual position reports to the Aquatics Recreation Programmer and offers a schedule of up to 80 hours bi-weekly during the sport centre operational hours of 6am to 9pm, including weekends. The RMOW is a vibrant destination resort community and a leader in providing municipal programs and services.

Requirements

• Fully certified and qualified Lifeguard/Swim Instructor
• Current NL (pool) certification
• Current Swim For Life Swim Instructor certification
• Current First Aid certification
• Current CPR-C certification
• Knowledge of aquatic-related policy and procedures
• Knowledge of water safety and first aid
• Skills in communication for effective instruction and lifeguarding
• Judgment for quick decision-making
• Customer service focused with a professional, approachable and helpful demeanor
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace
• Ability to contribute to a positive team environment
• Satisfactory Police Information Check prior to beginning employment

Responsibilities

• Safety supervision of the pool area
• Swim instruction for all ages
• Administration of first aid for the sports centre
• Completion of basic maintenance tasks in the pool area
• Delivery of positive sports centre guest service
• Assisting with the opening and closing of the pool facilities
