About The Position

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Lifeguard/Swim Instructor at Meadow Park Sports Centre. This part-time role involves ensuring safety in the pool area, providing swimming instruction, administering first aid, performing basic maintenance, and delivering excellent guest service. The position reports to the Aquatics Recreation Programmer and operates within the sport centre's hours of 6 am to 9 pm, including evenings and weekends. The role also includes assisting with opening and closing procedures for the pool facilities.

Requirements

Fully certified and qualified Lifeguard/Swim Instructor
Current NL (pool) certification
Current Swim For Life Swim Instructor certification
Current First Aid certification
Current CPR-C certification
Knowledge of aquatic-related policy and procedures
Knowledge of water safety and first aid
Skills in communication for effective instruction and lifeguarding
Judgment for quick decision-making
Customer service focused with a professional, approachable and helpful demeanor
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced working environment
Commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace
Ability to contribute to a positive team environment
Satisfactory Police Information Check prior to beginning employment
