About The Position

The ideal candidate will supervise swimming activities at the waterfront, ensuring that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. This includes warning swimmers of improper activities or danger, enforcing waterfront rules and water safety policies, and administering first aid in the event of injury. The role also involves rescuing swimmers in distress, evaluating conditions for safety, initiating aquatics emergency action plans, and inspecting the waterfront, jet ski launch, equipment, and water to ensure they are safe and usable. Responsibilities further include maintaining equipment and first aid inventory, ensuring supplies are in good order at the start of each shift, filling out required checklists, attending scheduled lifeguard training and meetings, and undertaking other assigned waterfront projects.

Requirements

Must be or willing to become CPR/ First Aid, Lifeguard certified, and maintain certification.
Must be attentive and able to give directions.
Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for lengthy periods of time and lift to 50lbs
Must be able to swim 500 yards nonstop

Nice To Haves

Previous Lifeguarding experience is preferred but not required for this position

Responsibilities

Ensures that first aid supplies are maintained, and that equipment is in good order and placed properly at the start of each shift.
Fill out required checklists.
Attends scheduled lifeguard training and meetings.
Other waterfront projects as assigned.
