Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a per diem Life Support Educator. This role functions as a leader in all components of American Heart Association (AHA) courses (ACLS/BLS/PALS/PEARS). Responsibilities include lecturing on required AHA content, demonstrating mega codes, managing group skills, utilizing life support medical devices and equipment, setting up and using educational presentation tools, creating and leading case-based scenarios, skills instruction and evaluation, practice and remediation stations, and written examinations. The educator must understand the educational philosophy of Life Support Education and Outreach and relevant policies for conducting AHA courses. Travel to community and Ambulatory sites is required, and evening and weekend availability is necessary as needed. The role also involves providing education to external students and supporting contracted clients, teaching in Life Support programs for staff, assuring competence for changes in practice, and revising/implementing Life Support Education in collaboration with the team. Additionally, the educator will support clinical advancement and career coaching by mentoring AHA instructors and collaborating with other departments to align Life Support Education with regulatory expectations and departmental initiatives. Applying evidence-based practice to educational programs is also a key aspect of this role.
