About The Position

QLI is seeking a Life Path Assistant, a role focused on bringing joy and purpose to residents recovering from spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries. This position involves creating personalized, everyday activities that cater to individual resident preferences, rather than group events. Responsibilities include assisting residents with daily activities, such as navigating technology, engaging in creative projects like making cards or painting, participating in recreational activities like visiting a sports bar, and assisting with online tasks. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a healthcare setting while building relationships with residents and team members, with potential for career advancement within the organization.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must be Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Must be able to commit to one year full time.
  • Must pass a fitness assessment designated for this job title and perform all physical activities related to the position.
  • Must not have any condition or limitation that could pose a direct threat to self or others unless such threat can be eliminated by a reasonable accommodation.
  • Regular attendance in your assigned role is an essential job function.
  • Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • PAID training is offered for the right candidate if you do not have your CNA certification yet.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with everyday activities tailored to their individual desires.
  • Help residents navigate iPads to find new apps or games.
  • Assist residents in reading letters or creating birthday cards.
  • Participate in recreational activities such as visiting a sports bar or watching games.
  • Create adaptive ways for residents to enjoy activities like painting, knitting, stenciling, or woodworking.
  • Help residents complete online shopping or find games to play.
  • Provide assistance with ADL's (Activities of Daily Living) as a C.N.A.
  • Engage in other recreational activities.
