About The Position

NHC Place Sumner Assisted Living and Memory Care is seeking a part-time Life Enrichment / Recreation Assistant to provide therapeutic programming that meets each patient's individual needs while creating an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. The goal is to provide daily meaningful activities that enhance residents' quality of life. The role requires a compassionate, caring, creative, energetic person with a desire to work with seniors and knowledge of wellness domains as they relate to programming in long-term care. The assistant will work with family members, partners, the community, and other departments. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Desire to work with seniors; compassionate, caring, creative, and energetic approach.
• Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to be a team player and work with other departments.
• Basic typing and computer skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Publisher, particularly for producing monthly calendars, newsletters, and other internal and external marketing materials.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of the domains of wellness as they relate to programming in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a well-rounded wellness program for Long Term Care, Memory Care, or Rehab patients as assigned.
• Work alternating weekend and/or holiday hours as part of the programming schedule.
• Complete assessments, care plans, and associated paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensure programming meets applicable local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Bring fun to resident programming.
• Work with family members, partners, and the community.
• Collaborate with other departments to build staff morale.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
