Assisted Living Life Enrichment / Recreation Assistant
About The Position
NHC Place Sumner Assisted Living / Memory Care is seeking a Life Enrichment / Recreation Assistant (also described as an Activity Assistant) to provide therapeutic programs that meet each patient's individual needs and create an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. The role focuses on providing daily meaningful activities that enhance residents' quality of life. Candidates should be compassionate, caring, creative, energetic, and familiar with wellness domains as they relate to programming in long-term care. This is a full-time position. The assistant develops and implements wellness programming for long-term care, memory care, or rehabilitation patients as assigned, completes assessments and care plans, and ensures programming complies with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines. The position includes alternating weekend and/or holiday hours and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Self-motivated, creative, positive, and genuinely enthusiastic.
- Compassionate and caring, with a desire to work with seniors.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work as a team player and collaborate with other departments to build staff morale.
- Basic typing and computer skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Publisher for producing monthly calendars, newsletters, and other internal and external marketing materials.
- Ability to work with family members, partners, and the community.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of the domains of wellness as they relate to programming in long-term care.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a well-rounded wellness program for long-term care, memory care, or rehabilitation patients as assigned.
