You will be the heartbeat of the community, planning programs ranging from live entertainment and wellness to themed celebrations and intellectual discussions, helping residents continue to enjoy life's vibrancy.

Requirements

  • Experience in life enrichment, event planning, hospitality, or a related field.
  • A fun, energetic personality with a big imagination.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to connect with people and make them feel valued and inspired.
  • A passion for seniors and a belief that life should always be celebrated.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in senior living preferred.
  • Activities certification desired.
  • Four-year college or university degree in Recreation Therapy or similar field desired.
  • CPR and AED certification required (must be attained in first 60 days of Employment).

Responsibilities

  • Create a dynamic calendar filled with fun, meaningful, and elevated programs.
  • Organize exciting outings, entertainment, and experiences tailored to our members’ interests.
  • Build warm, lasting connections with residents, families, and team members.
  • Encourage participation and engagement so every resident feels included and celebrated.
  • Lead a team with positivity, creativity, and enthusiasm.
  • Engage residents in Weller Life opportunities through formal activities and informal interactions.
  • Plan and facilitate spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and emotional programming for residents that is consistent with SLC standards and focused on residents’ unique needs and interests.
  • Continuously gauge resident’s interests, hobbies, preferences, curiosities and needs; create and continuously update a diverse and stimulating menu of programming activities and events accordingly.
  • Seek out and foster partnerships with local organizations, non-profit groups, educational institutions, and others to identify opportunities for residents to share their talents through volunteerism and to bring outside talents into the community.
  • Create and publish a variety of professional written communications to promote programs, educate residents and families, and share examples of Weller Life in the community.
  • Monitor resident participation in programs to evaluate their appeal and increase participation; adjust calendar or events accordingly.
  • Stay abreast of active aging and generational trends in order to continuously enhance Weller Life initiatives; share relevant information with peers and community staff to increase awareness and support professional development.
  • Share successful activity blueprints with team residents and participate in best practices calls.
  • Partner with team, residents and home office staff to deliver engaging and informative orientation and in-service training programs.
  • May participate in award winning WAVES pool program.
  • May run family support groups.
  • Participate and attend all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
  • Enter assessments into company software as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
