About The Position

Devon Oaks Assisted Living is seeking a part-time Life Enrichment Coordinator for its community in Westlake, Ohio. The role primarily involves planning and facilitating activities in the memory care unit, while also supporting traditional assisted living when needed. The coordinator helps residents enjoy safe, engaging activities and provides companionship and emotional support, while promoting residents’ dignity, independence, and ability to direct how they spend their day.

Responsibilities

Prepare activity locations, set up supplies, contribute to activity development, and restore rooms to their original setup afterward.
Facilitate pleasant and safe activities and encourage resident participation.
Accompany residents on field trips and drive when needed.
Submit activity ideas to the Program Director and assist with preparing the community calendar.
Visit with residents and provide companionship, interaction, and emotional support.
Confer with nurses regarding residents’ health status.
Maintain safe and sanitary conditions related to activities.
Provide residents with opportunities to direct their own lives and decide how to spend their day.
Maintain a safe environment and use tools and equipment safely.
Immediately report hazardous conditions, incidents, injuries, and equipment concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Follow the organization’s mission and policies, including HIPAA, Residents’ Rights, annual TB testing, and completion of assigned education.
Participate on committees as assigned.
Adapt positively to changing responsibilities, remain receptive to new ways of completing tasks, and be flexible in carrying out assignments.
