Life Enrichment Coordinator - Independent Living (Events and Activities Planner/Presenter)
About The Position
Touchmark on West Prospect is the Fox Valley’s leading full-service retirement community, dedicated to enriching the lives of residents and their families through engaging programs, hospitality, and connection. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Life Enrichment Coordinator to plan and lead activities that bring excitement, purpose, and joy to our Independent Living residents. This role involves designing and delivering creative, high-energy programs that inspire residents to stay active, connected, and fulfilled. You will work with a vibrant, independent population that loves social gatherings, fitness, art, and lifelong learning, and join a supportive, collaborative team where your ideas and enthusiasm are encouraged.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience planning and leading activities in a senior living, hospitality, or recreational setting.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Food handler’s certification per state requirements (or willingness to obtain).
Nice To Haves
- Degree or coursework in recreation, hospitality, or human services preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and facilitate daily programs, social events, classes, and excursions that promote wellness across all dimensions — physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual.
- Encourage participation and foster community engagement among residents.
- Coordinate special events, intergenerational programs, and outings.
- Partner with Dining Services and other departments for community celebrations and theme events.
- Document attendance, participation, and feedback to continuously improve programming.
- Assist with recruitment of volunteers and outside entertainment.
