Life Enrichment Assistant/Activities
About The Position
Snow Canyon Retirement is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to help enrich residents’ lives through compassionate care and supportive programming. The role assists with planning and carrying out community activities in a professional, friendly manner that supports residents’ lifestyles. It also includes driving the company vehicle for resident excursions and scheduled activities. The position is full-time, with a Tuesday–Saturday and/or flexible schedule. Evening, weekend, and holiday functions may be required when necessary. The employer describes its workplace as a supportive, family-like atmosphere and notes opportunities for professional growth.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Ability to understand senior citizens’ needs and interests and execute programs for them.
- Ability to follow established standards, state regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a variety of people and personalities and get along with others.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision.
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
- Manual dexterity to operate a vehicle safely and a clean driving record.
- Ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, and walk, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activity programming from inception through execution.
- Follow established standards, state regulations, and company policies and procedures when performing duties.
- Confidentially document identified resident needs or problems and document resident participation.
- Communicate resident feedback to the Life Enrichment Director.
- Drive residents in the company vehicle for scheduled activities and church runs.
- Attend evening, weekend, and holiday functions when necessary.
- Help decorate the community for holidays and special events.
- Participate in and support resident-centered activity and life enrichment programs.
- Participate in assigned projects or committees.
- Attend associate meetings, in-service education, and associate functions as requested by the supervisor.
- Assist with a variety of tasks involving residents as assigned.
