Life Engagement Assistant (Activities / Recreation)
About The Position
Acts Retirement-Life Communities is seeking a Life Engagement Assistant to work in its skilled nursing neighborhood. The assistant supports the Life Engagement Coordinator in planning and implementing programs and events that provide residents with the Acts Signature Experience (ASE), incorporating wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality. Programs address body, mind, and spirit to support residents’ quality of life and provide meaningful engagement for people with differing cognitive and functional abilities. Activities are informed by Montessori principles of resident empowerment and engagement, as well as residents’ personal histories and preferences as recorded in My Story. This role requires compliance with Florida’s Care Provider Background Screening process. The hourly pay range is $14.52–$17.39, with starting rate varying based on skills and experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of activities or recreation experience.
- Dementia engagement certification, or willingness to obtain it within one year of employment.
- Current CPR certification or eligibility for CPR certification.
- Compliance with Florida’s Care Provider Background Screening process.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Life Engagement Coordinator in planning and implementing resident programs and events.
- Support programs that incorporate wellness, person-centered living, hospitality, and the body, mind, and spirit components of life balance.
- Help ensure residents with differing cognitive and functional levels have opportunities for meaningful engagement consistent with the Acts engagement philosophy.
- Use Montessori principles and residents’ personal histories and preferences, as expressed in My Story, to inform programs.
