Life Engagement Assistant (Activities / Recreation)
About The Position
Acts is seeking a Life Engagement Assistant to work in its assisted living neighborhood. The role supports the Life Engagement Coordinator in planning and implementing programs and events that provide residents with the Acts Signature Experience, incorporating wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality. Programs address body, mind, and spirit to support residents’ quality of life. The assistant helps ensure residents with differing cognitive and functional abilities have opportunities for meaningful engagement, following Acts’ engagement philosophy. Programs are informed by Montessori principles of resident empowerment and engagement and by residents’ personal histories and preferences as expressed in My Story.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of activities or recreation experience.
- Dementia engagement certification, or willingness to obtain it within one year of employment.
- Current CPR certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Compliance with Florida’s Care Provider Background Screening process.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Life Engagement Coordinator with planning and implementing programs and events.
- Support programs that incorporate wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality and address body, mind, and spirit.
- Help ensure residents of differing cognitive and functional levels have opportunities for meaningful engagement consistent with the Acts engagement philosophy.
- Support programs informed by Montessori principles and residents’ personal histories and preferences as expressed in My Story.
